Details	NG-011 is a secondary metabolite isolated from Penicillium verruculosum that enhances nerve growth factor (NGF)-induced neurite outgrowth in PC12 cells. It acts as a potentiator of NGF signaling rather than an NGF mimic, increasing neuronal differentiation responses in the presence of NGF. Structural studies revealed it belongs to a macrocyclic polylactone class of fungal metabolites.
